HOW WE MADE - Pret (Apple Pay)

Client Brief:

Pret A Manger prides itself on being at the forefront of contactless payment, aiming to complete till transactions in under a minute. In June 2015 Pret sought to become one of the first companies in the UK to introduce Apple Pay transactions into all of its stores. With just 48hrs notice before launch, Pret commissioned Popkorn to make two 15 second promotional films to be released across all social media platforms.

Campaign:

Popkorn agreed the visual device for the campaign and begin filming almost immediately. Such was the degree of urgency with the project that Apple had not even official released the images of the Apple Pay functionality, so Popkorn designed and built the imagery in graphics ahead of release, based on Apple’s Beta test imagery.

Results:

The films were released, featuring in a multitude of headlines and articles, across Pret’s website and all social media platforms – within just two hours of launch. The films were viewed by over 450,000 thousand viewers enabling Pret to beat all competition in launching Apple pay in store in the UK.
